THE INDIAN government has pledged continued support for Mozambique in various sectors such as energy, railway infrastructure, defence and health. According to the Maputo Corridor Logistics Initiative, outgoing Indian High Commissioner Upendra Baro said after a farewell meeting with President Armando Guebuza that cooperation between the two countries had paid special attention to the area of transport, with India disbursing US$20-million for the railway sector. He said that India was also prepared to grant a further US$20-million for the Mozambican energy sector.
