In an ongoing effort to secure more direct access to and from Cape Town, the city’s Air Access team has lined up three new non-stop flights to Cape Town International Airport and two expansions.
This follows participation of Cape Town Air Access at the World Routes conference, a global meeting place for airline, airport and aviation stakeholders, held in Barcelona.
Whilst the exact new routes and expansions have yet to be announced, Wesgro CEO Tim Harris said this was evidence of the success of Cape Town Air Access and how route development could be driven as part of a collaborative approach by government and business.
“World Routes was a great success for our team this year, with multiple commitments for new routes and expansions,” he said.
Harris also participated at the conference as a panellist during a discussion that put Africa in the spotlight. During this discussion critical topics affecting the continent and its development were covered, ranging from infrastructure to air access increasing trade and investment with major markets like China.
