The Middle East has been identified as a market of significant potential for South African exporters in the agro-processing sector – with 90% of the region’s food being imported.
This is according to the Department of Trade and Industry (dti) which is currently hosting a business delegation from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran and the United Arab Emirates on an Inward Buying Mission (IBM).
The dti has arranged for buyers to meet companies in South Africa’s food and beverage sector.
