In the interests of improved safety, Japanese shipping line Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) is set to begin analysing the causes of incidents and problems on its vessels.
This will be done by using statistical analysis software in order to develop more effective measures to prevent incidents, according to a statement by the ocean carrier.
“The MOL Group continually uses and applies ICT (information and communications technology) in a proactive manner, with the aim of ensuring safe, stable cargo transport and becoming the world leader in safe operations,” said a spokesperson.
MOL will analyse the causal relationship of data from multiple sources such as operation, crew member and vessel inspection data.
