The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport will spend the bulk of its budget to build, upgrade and maintain provincial road networks.
Tabling the provincial budget on Friday, MEC for Finance, Belinda Scott, announced that the provincial transport department would receive R10.4 billion and R11.1 billion respectively over the 2018/19 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
Scott said this would fund various projects during this period, including the construction of new gravel roads, new blacktop roads, new cause ways and new pedestrian and vehicle bridges, among others.
