Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) has said in a statement issued last night that the jet fuel reserves at Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) are stable.
This is after operations were affected by low levels of jet fuel.
“All flights in and out of Cape Town are operating as scheduled,” Acsa said.
“The refinery production over the past 24 hours is stable and the situation is being monitored closely.”
Acsa also stated that additional imports had been confirmed to supplement local production and fuel suppliers were prioritising tanker deliveries to the airport to meet daily demand.
“Acsa management in collaboration with airlines and fuel suppliers will continue to monitor the reliability of production and the rate of delivery to CTIA to prevent cancellations and minimise disruption.
“All travellers are requested to please monitor their flight schedules and stay informed via the Acsa App and the relevant airline websites.”
Acsa has furthermore undertaken to continue to provide regular updates.
