Access to training, finance and entrepreneurship opportunities remains critical for the growth of South Africa’s black farming community, said Lemang Agricultural Services, a subsidiary of Afgri, in its self-published article yesterday.
The head of Lemang, Marion Shikwinya, said: “With food security becoming an increasing concern for South Africa and the rest of the continent, it’s important that agri businesses such as Afgri get behind our farmers.”
Afgri offers a wide range of financial services that they are looking to adapt for new farmers, Shikwinya added.
Lemang was specifically created to train, develop and mentor upcoming farmers into becoming full-scale commercial producers through financial assistance.
Shikwinya confirms that Lemang has trained and supported over 650 farmers in the last four years.
