Plans are under way to build a new port at Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana. This after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) and Diamond and Cement Ghana Limited.
Director-general of GPHA, Paul Ansah, said a concession agreement was expected to be reached within the next few months. “The construction of a port at Keta will ease congestion at the Tema and Takoradi ports and increase the volume of business in the West Africa sub-region,” he added.
