THE Port of Cape Town was partially disrupted last week after a gas leak aboard a vessel resulted in two crewmen being whisked to hospital with serious burns, in-port diversions and a freeway traffic build-up. A strong smell of ammonia hung in the air after a pipe fractured in the engine room of a 57-metre Taiwanese-registered trawler, so overpowering the immediate area around M berth was evacuated.
