Harsh weather has once again delayed the arrival of the Maersk Eindhoven which will reach Los Angeles on March 20, a week later than planned.
The 13 100-TEU vessel, which lost 260 boxes overboard in rough seas between Xiamen in China and Los Angeles in February, left APM Terminals at the Port of Yokohama on March 2. “The vessel will sail as fast as is considered safe under the prevailing weather conditions in order to get to LA as soon as possible,” Maersk told its customers in an advisory issued on March 2.
“We anticipate the possibility of additional containers that may have incurred damage but did not require cross-stuffing at the berthing in Yokohama. We will know further once discharge operations in Los Angeles commence.”
Further information will be released to customers on her arrival in LA.
