The container vessel, Cosco Shipping Panama, left the Greek Port of Piraeus yesterday on a 14-day voyage to Panama to make history – the inaugural transit of the expanded Panama Canal on Sunday, June 26.
Full commercial operations kick off the following day.
She is 299.98 metres long with a beam (width) of 48.25m and again will be the first vessel to use the massive new Agua Clara Locks on the Atlantic side during the early morning and the Cocoli Locks on the Pacific side in the afternoon.
