FAW SA yesterday announced the rollout of its 7000th assembled unit at its Coega manufacturing plant.
The achievement marks a significant milestone in the life of the R600-million assembly plant located in the Coega Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The plant was officially inaugurated seven years ago.
The Coega SEZ automotive cluster included the likes of BAIC SA, ISUZU Parts Distribution Centre, Faurecia, Rehau, Groupo Antolin, Benteler, Hella and Q-Plas, said Coega Development Corporation unit head of marketing & communications, Dr Ayanda Vilakazi.
