Eskom has announced that load-shedding will increase to Stage 5 from Monday, March 6, till 5am on Tuesday.
The increase is said to be a result of five generating units suffering breakdowns, namely at Camden, Duvha, Majuba and Kriel power stations.
Despite no further information, Eskom’s Energy Availability Factor (EAF) has been dropping below 50% during the 2022/23 period so far.
The EAF for the last two weeks have not been published by Eskom, causing concern with lack of transparency.
