E-learning provider
of freight forwarding
learnerships, Global Trade
Training (GTT), has had
its scope of accreditation
extended to include all
unit standards in the two
learnerships used by the
industry, the National
Certificate in International
Trade and the National
Certificate in Freight
Forwarding.
“This means that Skills
Development Levy refunds
in respect of training which
was previously completed
with us and for training
commenced in the latter
part of last year may now be
finalised,” explained GTT
MD Charles Dey.
In a separate
development, a 51.25%
shareholding in GTT
was acquired by Roshni
Bhemnarayan, a designated
black woman, in December
last year. “This is important
for those who bought from
us from last year and who
support us in the future,”
said Dey, “since we qualify
as a level 3 contributor
to BBBEE with 75 points
and have a procurement
recognition level of 110%.”
The company has
formalised and documented
its quality management
system and will shortly
be in a position to submit
this for ISO compliance
certification, according
to Dey. “We employ an
extensive team of qualified
assessors and moderators
who are SETA registered
and who bring a wealth of
subject matter expertise to
our programmes. We also
have two qualified Skills
Development Facilitators on
the team who are equipped
to advise on SETA funding
issues.”
As for the future, GTT
has seen huge interest in
two programmes which
Teta is busy registering as
learnerships and which will
be the first stepping stones
towards acquisition of the
Fiata Diploma.
