The first sod has been turned for the construction of a 20 000-square-metre bespoke warehouse adjacent to the R21 and R25 at Eastport Logistics Park in Gauteng.
A joint venture between property investment company Fortress REIT and logistics and warehousing company Crusader Logistics, the R240-million development will be capable of storing multiple classes of goods, using groundbreaking technology.
The warehouse is set to start operating in September 2023.
Eastport Logistics Park is a secure, state-of-the-art logistics park with easy access to the R21 as well as exposure off the R21. It is home to some of South Africa’s big brand companies and warehouses such as Clippa, Teralco, Pick n Pay and Takealot.com.
The deal was facilitated by real estate company Galetti.
