CARGO INFO Africa, FTW's sister publication
on the internet, has further refined its shipping schedule information to provide easier accessibility in the format that best suits your needs.
"Not only are we offering email schedules
tailored to an individual's requirements at a nominal fee of R30,00 a month, but we can now also supply the information in an Excel format," says Cargo Info's Peter Hemer.
"The advantage of this format is that it can be imported into users' own systems and LANS for use by staff."
It will be sent out every Monday and will include all data received up to the Sunday evening beforehand.
The charge for this service is R150,00 per month per route. Information will cover the period
from the day of despatch for four weeks ahead (both import and export). The Excel format
allows the information to be manipulated according to user needs, says Hemer.
If any users require a time frame greater than
28 days this can be negotiated individually.
The four week horizon was felt to be the most effective to prevent files becoming too large and slow to transmit.
An additional feature which links into the Cargo Info schedule is an online port table guide reflecting the international code, country and region.
"This will also be supplied for those running data base systems to make it even easier to
use the data," says Hemer.
Customisation is the key, and anyone with
other data requirements is invited to direct enquiries via the "Customised Schedule" on
the web site where a reply form is already set
out.
