The knock-on effect of port congestion in Durban has resulted in no export sailings from the Port of Cape Town to the UK/NWC and USA this week.
That’s according to Exporters’ Club Western Cape chairman, Terry Gale, who has described the situation as ‘critical’.
He told FTW last week that instead of containers moving weekly to the US, exporters had no option but to transport them all on one vessel at the end of the month.
