BUNKER FUEL problems in Cape Town continue with no stock now available until March 28. It was hoped that the supply would be flowing again from Monday this week (March 18) but further problems at the refinery have forced the operators to extend the non-supply period for a further 10 days.
The refinery has stated that supplies will then be restricted to 500 tons per vessel at a cost of US$143 per metric ton.
Durban supplies have been limited but there is fuel available in the port, although prices have increased to US$141 per metric ton with the possibility of these increasing.
