The Border Management Authority (BMA) will take on the roles of the South African National Defence Force; Departments of Public Works, Home Affairs, Environmental Affairs and the South Africa Police Service.
That is according to the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) that will be hosting the BMA next week.
“The BMA will help prevent, among others, drug-related crimes, human trafficking. Illegitimate movement of goods and unauthorised movement of persons,” a JCCI statement said.
Acting director general of the Department of Home Affairs, Thulani Mavuso, will provide an update on the implementation processes during the BMA’s JCCI presentation.
The event on April 30 starts at 9:30 and has been tipped as “essential” for professionals in the freight space.
It will be held at JCCI House in Milpark. Bookings can be made to Zanele Ndimande of the JCCI at zanele@jcci.co.za
