Following last week’s announcement that it would temporarily suspend the manufacture of military aircraft, Boeing will now do the same for all 787 operations at Boeing South Carolina until further notice.
According to Brad Zaback, vice president and general manager of the 787 programme, the move is motivated by the company’s concern for the health and safety of its staff.
When the suspension was lifted, the 787 programme would take “an orderly approach” to restarting production, he said.
