The Mozambican port of Beira’s liquid petroleum gas (LPG) terminal is expected to start operating in May this year according to project manager, Luís Mavie.
Portuguese news agency Lusa cited Mavie as saying that the project was being implemented by public company Petromoc. According to him, the LPG terminal was due to have come online in January but adverse weather delayed the operations.
“Heavy rainfall delayed completion, but the infrastructure is now ready,” he said.
The terminal consists of three tanks with a total storage capacity of three thousand metric tons of gas. It is expected to fill about 600 cylinders per hour, or six 25-ton trucks per day.
