On Saturday, a highly-combustible collision was reported between a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier and a petrol-and-lube-loaded oil tanker just outside the Kamarajar Port in India.
The LPG carrier MV Maple was outbound from the port while tanker, MV Dawn Kanchipuram, was inbound. Both ships were being guided by tugs with pilots when they collided, said sources.
No deaths or injuries were recorded, there was no oil spill, no other traffic disrupted, and both vessels anchored safely. Damage is still being assessed.
