The Export-Import Bank of China (Exim Bank) is to provide the equivalent of R2.24-billion for the construction of a ring road around Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, according to news agency AIM.
The agreement with the Exim Bank was signed on February 17 and ratified by the council of ministers (cabinet) on Tuesday.
According to deputy foreign minister, Henrique Banze, the ring road will ease congestion in Maputo, and will mean that traffic moving from one side of the city to the other will no longer have to drive through the heart of Maputo.
