The board of Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) has appointed Sihle Ngcamu as its new chief executive officer.
TIKZN Interim Board Chairperson, Khanyisani Shandu, said Ngcamu’s leadership acumen will steer the organisation to fulfil its mandate to facilitate trade and promote the province as the investment destination of choice.
“The board is confident that with Mr Ngcamu at the helm, TIKZN is destined to further entrench itself as a key strategic partner in bringing economic opportunities to the province,” Shandu said.
Ngcamu has been acting in the position since October 2023.
Ngcamu joined TIKZN in 2016 as the executive manager for investment promotion, a role in which he was instrumental in destination marketing, investment attraction and facilitation, as well as business retention and expansion.
During his extensive career spanning more than three decades, Ngcamu has held roles in the private and public sectors, including positions with the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone and BHP Billiton.
He holds a Master's Degree in Law from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Master's Degree in Environmental Management from the University of Zululand, among other qualifications.
