Logistics multinational Dubai Ports World and leading Turkish manufacturer, Evyap Group, have officially completed a strategic merger, uniting two significant ports on the Marmara Sea to establish a new cargo hub in Türkiye.
The merger received regulatory approval from the Turkish Competition Authority, and aims to enhance Türkiye's role in global trade.
Under the new arrangement, DP World will hold a 58% stake in Evyapport in Körfez on the eastern-most end of the Sea of Marmara.
Evyap Group will maintain a 42% share in DP World Yarımca, one of the largest container terminals on the Gulf of Izmit.
The rebranding will see the ports renamed as DP World Evyap Yarımca and DP World Evyap Körfez.
The newly formed entity, DP World Evyap, is expected to meet increasing demand for advanced multi-modal logistics solutions in the wider Istanbul industrial complex.
It aims to boost both export and import volumes, facilitate the growth of new sectors, and reinforce Türkiye's status as a pivotal hub in international supply chains.
The merger will create a combined berthing space of 2088 metres, enabling the simultaneous handling of multiple ultra-large container vessels, with an annual container handling capacity exceeding two million TEU.
Access to advanced road and rail links, alongside expedited turnaround times, will be a hallmark of DP World Evyap's operations, supported by a team of over 900 logistics experts dedicated to optimising cargo movement.
