Scan Global Logistics (SGL Group) has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by setting ambitious targets to address climate change.
As part of its comprehensive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities, the company has established specific goals and initiatives to combat its carbon emissions and drive positive change in its customers' supply chains.
Through a Science Based Targets initiative and guided by the imperative of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, SGL Group has recently obtained approval for its near-term 2030 climate targets.
With a baseline of 2021, the company has set an ambitious goal of halving emissions across all scopes by 2030. Furthermore, it has pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, reflecting its resolve to combat climate change.
The SGL Group is prominent in the project cargo space, and since an overwhelming 99% of the company's CO2 emissions are derived from the transportation activities they undertake on behalf of their customers, its sustainability strategy focuses on decarbonising the transport emissions within their customers' supply chains, says Martin Andersen, global head of sustainability, ESG and quality.
