Hundreds of global policy leaders, customs agencies and technology experts will attend the Africa Trade and Customs Week Summit in Durban in July.
The conference, which is the largest customs summit in Africa, will serve as a global platform to highlight progress regarding the future of the next-generation supply chain and borderless trade across Africa. The summit takes place from July 11-13.
Africa Trade and Customs Week aims to change the way global leaders and decision-makers approach integrated customs capabilities. More than 500 international policy leaders, customs agencies, technology, private sector trade and customs leaders are expected to gather at the summit to discuss key aspects of next-generation supply chain and borderless trade.
Prominent leaders and representatives who will be attending include the UN Economic Commission, World Trade Organization, World Customs Organization, as well as Thomas Mxolisi Kaunda, executive mayor of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Sessions at the summit will focus on customs, compliance, and trade facilitation by highlighting innovation, future technology and interactivity.
It will cover a number of topics on illicit trade with a focus on market access for goods into and out of Africa, how to better enhance African trade practices, challenges and potential solutions.
