Since FTW Online was rebranded as Freight News earlier this year, the team at what used to be known as Freight & Trading Weekly (FTW) has pulled out the stops to continue adding new features to South Africa’s online niche site for the supply chain and logistics community.
One of the new features is “Border Beat”, a dedicated news channel created to monitor cargo transits at Southern Africa’s land borders.
Persistent issues experienced at borders such as Beitbridge is one of the reasons why it was decided to concentrate on frequent and focused coverage with regard to cross-border efficiencies.
The new channel includes a column on the landing page (beneath the “Feature” and “Column” section), where readers can find all Border Beat content archived.
An additional feature is the Ports Directory click-through right above the Border Beat section.
This is an old favourite inherited from the days of FTW where importers and exporters can easily see what lines serve which ports.
The Far East and South East Asia, Middle East, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, West Africa, UK, North-West Canada, Scandinavia, Australasia, North and South America, East Africa and West Africa, Mediterranean and the Black Sea, Indian Ocean Islands, and of course South Africa – it’s all there if you’re looking at ocean freight linkages and service providers.
