">Angola’s planned oil refinery in Cabinda is due to start operating in 2022, with negotiations for the construction almost finalised, according to the state oil company Sonangol.
">Sonangol president, Carlos Saturnino, said in a statement “there are very advanced negotiations with the consortium regarding the financial part of the project”, as well as for the equipment and the construction.
">The construction of the Cabinda refinery – which will have a daily processing capacity of 60 000 barrels of crude oil – was awarded to the United Shine consortium.
">Last year Sonangol announced plans to build two new oil refineries – one in Cabinda and one in Lobito – to reduce the country’s dependence on imports.
