The N2 between Grahamstown and Fish River Pass will close for approximately an hour every Tuesday, between 14h00 and 16h30, until December 5.
The South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) said the reason was the continuation of controlled blasting along the national route as part of its long-term strategy to improve the quality of roads between Port Elizabeth and King William’s Town.
According to Sanral southern region manager, Mbulelo Peterson, the road improvements were motivated by an increase in traffic volumes, particularly heavy vehicles.
