A group of South Sudanese businesspeople are in South Africa on a mission to woo investors and increase trade and investment between the two countries, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (dti).
“South African companies already have a presence in South Sudan and we are on a mission to woo more companies to follow the example of SAB Miller, MTN and Standard Bank to come to our country and invest,” said general secretary of the South Sudan Chamber of Commerce, Simon Akuei Deng.
He noted that while the country’s political situation could appear daunting to investors, all countries had their own risks and daring people would be able to turn risks into business opportunities.
“There are unlimited investment opportunities in the mining, agricultural and road infrastructure sectors in the country,” added Deng.
