Zimbabwe’s annual raw year-on-year milk production increased by 5.5% last year due to a healthy growth in the country’s dairy cow population.
Figures released by the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers (ZADF) show that Zimbabwe produced 58 million litres of raw milk, reports online newspaper, the Southern Times.
ZADF hopes that 2016 will see even better growth; however, this optimism is being quelled by the current drought predictions.
“ZADF will continue to engage the Government in discussions about what we can do to minimise these challenges,” said ZADF national chairperson, Emmanuel Zimbandu.
