Sheena Arnold – a well-known
personality in the SA aviation
industry – has been rewarded
for over 10 years of what she
described as “hard graft” at
general sales agent, The Cargo
Connection, with a directorship
of the company.
Born in what was then
Bulawayo, Rhodesia, Arnold was
educated and did her military
service (both army and air force)
there before emigrating to SA
in 1981.
She started her air cargo
career with Quickair, then moved
on to Freightech, before joining
The Cargo Connection in 1995.
“I left for two years to work
for airfreight agents Unifast,
before rejoining The Cargo
Connection,” she said. “Now,
I’m one of the company’s fixed
assets – a part of the furniture
you might say.”
The directorship, she added,
changes nothing.
“Same job, doing everything –
and now a nice new title.
“But I like to be with the
clients, and with our operations
and sales teams.”
Her description of how she
intends to venture into the future
was brief.
“Just trying to get more
airlines, and some more
business,” Arnold said.
