The World Trade Organization (WTO) has announced that, from 25 to 27 October 2023, the fifth review of the trade policies and practices of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) took place in Geneva.
The basis for the WTO’s review is a report by the Secretariat and reports by the Governments of Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa (BELNS countries).
Following the review, the WTO published the respective SACU Member Counties’ Trade Policy Review (TPR) documents and the WTO’s Chairperson’s concluding remarks.
