Chairman of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) and CEO of Namport, Bisey Uirab, has been busy selling the advantages of the Zambian market using Walvis Bay as an alternative trade route, at its Beyond Borders Information Session in Zambia.
“The port is linked to Zambia via the Walvis Bay-Ndola-Lubumbashi Development Corridor, and offers the handling of cargo with minimum delays,” he said. “The benefits of using Walvis Bay are highlighted in terms of transit time, good safety and security and reliability.”
The duration of cargo transportation between Zambia and Namibia is a total of three to four days.
And, Uirab added, although at least five different seaport options are used, the port of Walvis Bay is “increasingly becoming the preferred trade route amongst traders, importers, exporters and other logistics services providers due to the various competitive advantages it offers”.
