Mining activity is on the rise, and with it, project cargo volumes, according to Curtis Neethling of Lima Carriers.
He highlights a consistent uptick in project cargo volumes, fuelling optimism for continued growth.
“We are very positive about our project cargo outlook and expect it to increase as projects in Africa, particularly in southern Africa, are on the rise," he told Freight News.
Lima Carriers, equipped with a wide array of specialised equipment, is well prepared to handle the increasing demands of the project sector.
The company offers services for abnormal loads and provides necessary escorting facilities, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
According to Neethling, the growth in project cargo is a promising sign for the industry, indicating a robust pipeline of projects and investments in the region.
Countries such as Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi have all seen increased mining activity in recent years, while ongoing exploration promises to bring more projects and, with them, more volume.
