Global schedule reliability has continued to improve month-on-month (m-o-m), although the strength of the improvements have declined.
That’s according to the latest Global Liner Performance (GLP) report published by maritime consultancy Sea-Intelligence and covering the period up to and including April.
In April, reliability improved by 1.7 percentage points m-o-m to 64.2%, up 29.9 percentage points year-on-year (y-o-y). Average delay for late vessel arrivals also continued to decrease, with the April figure dropping by -0.72 days m-o-m to 4.34 days. This is -2.22 days lower y-o-y and is now also lower than the respective 2020 figure.
In terms of carrier reliability, Maersk (70.3%) and MSC (68.0%) continue to lead the pack, with several m-o-m variations among the rest of the lines.
