Mozambican Ports and Railways (CFM) this week unveiled the newly upgraded Pemba Port which will operate 24/7.
According to CFM the port recently underwent a $5 million “rehabilitation and reinforcement” period with the implementation of modern infrastructure and equipment.
Speaking at the unveiling, CFM chairman of the board, Miguel Matabel, expressed the hope that the upgrade would drive tariff to Pemba port.
The upgrade has increased handling capacity from 18 000 TEUs a year to an estimated 27 000.
