Roll-out intended in January
WITH THE demand for employment equity becoming a vital part of business life, the Transport SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) is busy putting in place the necessary training strategy which will lie behind any successful affirmative action.
According to c.e.o. Piet Bothma, the authority has developed a comprehensive strategy which will be rolled out in January.
This, he told FTW, will be a basis for individual employers to be able to put their own strategies into place.
But questioned on the current situation in employment equity, Bothma hesitates to give any firm opinion.
I can say that there is active participation in the whole industry to get affirmative action into place, he said. But I really wouldn't like to commit myself any more than that until we have gathered in all the facts and figures, and can give a definitive answer.
