The Top 5 Mediterranean ports

Port Technology has just published its rating of the Top 5 ports in the Mediterranean – all in either Spain or Italy.



1. Port of Algeciras, Spain Algeciras has the largest port in the Mediterranean, having shifted about 4.5 million TEUs in 2014.



2. Port of Valencia, Spain The Port of Valencia is the second largest port in Spain and the Mediterranean, and handled around 4.4 million TEUs last year.



3. Port of Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona shifted around 3.3 million TEUs in 2014.



4. Port of Gioia Tauro, Italy Gioia Tauro handled around 3 million TEUs in 2013.



5. Port of Genoa, Italy The Port of Genoa handled almost 2.2 million TEUs in 2014.
