Tanzanian Works, Transport and Communications minister, Atashasta Nditiye, has called on the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (Tazara) to revisit its transportation rate structure.
During a visit to Tazara’s Mbeya workshop earlier this week he said that the current rate structure needed to be reconsidered so that the authority would be better able to compete with other transporters and encourage more customers to opt for Tazara’s services.
Nditiye assured the authority that the Tanzanian government would continue its support, especially on the issue of locomotives and wagons, for Tazara.
