WHEN EXCLUSIVE Personnel managing director Wendy Pain opted to specialise in placements for the clearing and forwarding industry, she decided it was time for her entire staff to learn all there was to know about the industry.
We moved into Heneways, where John Buchel and his staff put us through the mill with in-house training. It was a base on which Charles Dey of the MITB could build, and he carried on training at our premises, says Pain.
The company opened its doors in 1981, but it was 10 years later that the decision was taken to open the freight division. Now solid relationships have been developed with some of the industry's top companies as well as an extensive database of employment candidates, Pain told FTW.
She is hoping to have the Thomas International Profile system incorporated by mid-year as one of Exclusive Personnel's services. With this in mind, she has her twin daughters, Dianne and Desiree, currently studying a final year Industrial Psychology degree at RAU. The pair will administer these tests in the future, assisting clients with new appointments as well as assessing existing staff.
You have to aim at increasing the productivity of your clients by providing the top candidates for the jobs on offer, she says.
