The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will lead an Outward Selling and Investment Mission (OSIM) to Canada 03 to 06 March 2019. The closing date for applications is 20 December.
The target sectors for this mission include: (i) Mining companies; (ii) Technology and services companies; (iii) Mining, capital equipment and services; (iv) Steel fabrication and steel tubing; (v) Engineering and services; and (vi) Electro-technical equipment and services.
The OSIM will take place concurrently with the annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Convention and Trade Show. PDAC is a leading trade show for companies and organisations in mineral exploration and mining.
More than 3 500 investors and 25,600 attendees from 135 countries are expected at the show.
According to the dti, companies will be screened and selected in line with the Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) guidelines and market requirements, which are explained in the EMIA guidelines document. For the approved companies, the dti will provide the following: (i) Accommodation (bed and breakfast only); (ii) An economy class return airfare to a maximum of R17 000; and (iii) Transport of samples.
