DESPITE STRONG market rumours that Neptune Orient Line intends to open a Far East-SA service - with a possible onward leg to Europe - the Singapore head office has quashed such speculation.
Initial enquiry of c.e.o. C E Lua was forwarded to the line's corporate communications department. The final response was negative, but the wording of the reply still leaves room for the line to move into the SA market at some future time.
Said the company spokesperson: We have no service to SA at the moment, and no proposal to open one AS YET.
