An important stakeholders meeting on the Bayhead Road upgrade will be held on Thursday March 22 at 11:00 at the Seafarers’ Mission, corner of Langeberg Road and Seafarers Road, Bayhead Road, Port of Durban, to discuss changes due to take place in the week beginning Monday March 26.
According to Solly Kuppan, transportation planner at project civil engineers, Aurecon, it is intended to shift traffic on to the new right hand carriageway in the week beginning on March 26.
Basically, the current road layout and intersections for vehicles travelling from Langeberg Road to Iran Road, Cutler Complex Gate 11 and to Pier 1 will be changing to the new alignment – but as a single lane dual carriageway.
Importantly, the new intersection of Iran, Bayhead and Trinidad Roads will be used as intended in the final configuration.
