The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority has taken delivery of an innovative leg-operated hand washer from the Fruit Terminal Company as part of measures to support the prevention and spread of Covid-19 in the Port of Tema.
According to information released on its website, the Fruit Terminal Company has built the hi-tech equipment in- house to enhance post users’ ability to wash their hands without touching knobs.
“The port has a lot of people entering so in order to avoid contamination through the hands, we devised this system for the leg to dispense both the soap and water,” technical supervisor at the Fruit Terminal, Patrick Ato Koomson, said.
