French shipping line CMA CGM has signed a strategic partnership agreement with information technology consultancy Infosys to improve and transform its IT applications and customer service.
“Simplifying the technology footprint and leveraging next-generation technologies is the need of the hour for the hyper-competitive shipping and logistics industry,” said Infosys president and head of Europe, Rajesh Krishnamurthy.
Under the agreement, Infosys will open a new reference centre for development and innovation in Marseilles, France, as well as take over CMA CGM’s IT development centre in Dubai in order to strengthen its presence in the Middle East.
Infosys will also provide the ocean carrier with new high value-added technologies to improve its agility and responsiveness.
A statement from the shipping line noted that the new systems to be implemented by Infosys would allow CMA CGM to be more flexible and innovative.
“Our ambition is to create a competitive advantage by offering our customers state-of-the-art technologies – and the partnership with Infosys is key to attaining this objective,” said CEO of CMA CGM, Rodolphe Saadé.
