Yesterday saw the launch by the Port of Rotterdam Authority of a new campaign branded “Building a Sustainable Port” which aims to ensure that the port and its surrounding areas are safe, healthy and attractive.
“Building a sustainable port means working to create economic and social value,” said port authority CEO, Allard Castelein. “We have identified three key themes: a safe and healthy environment, climate and energy, and people and employment.”
He observed that in the period up to October 10, the port authority would draw attention to 15 different aspects of the sustainability theme kicking off with “Nature in the Port”.
