Hong Kong carrier Cathay, which recently resumed direct flights between South Africa and the South China Sea port city, has appointed Johannesburg-based Shanna Docherty as regional head of Trade Sales for Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Docherty will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and tapping into revenue opportunities across the airline’s channel partners.
She has 14 years of aviation experience and brings a deep understanding of commercial practice, people management and has a genuine respect for cultural diversity.
Docherty joined Cathay in 2019 as cargo manager and has been an ardent advocate for the empowerment of women in the aviation sector.
She has held a number of key senior aviation roles prior to joining Cathay, including in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
