The South African Police Services (SAPS) arrested 26 suspects for a range of infringements – from the possession of illegal cigarettes to contravention of the Immigration Act - in Limpopo on Friday.
The operation was conducted by provincial and local police in collaboration with the freight industry along the R555 in Sekhukhune, in the Burgersfort policing jurisdiction.
Two suspects were arrested for possession of illegal cigarettes, one for contravention of the Second Hand Goods Act and another for contravention of the Road Traffic Act. The rest were charged for contravention of the Immigration Act.
The suspects will appear in the local Magistrate’s Court in upcoming weeks.
